Stakeholders engaged to inform the development of The Colorado Affordable Housing Toolkit for Local Officials indicated a wide range of training needs and preferences from in-person to virtual; from fundamentals to technical. In an effort to meet these varied needs, we are offering three training options for local officials to choose from:

  1. View a pre-recorded trainings on fundamental topics in affordable housing. Explore the list available in the navigation bar for this website.
  2. Sign up for a live on-line training. These 60 to 90 minute trainings cover one of the topics included in the pre-recorded trainings, but also create space for participants to ask questions, share their experiences, and discuss key ideas and trends. These trainings will be scheduled periodically throughout 2023 and 2024 and a link to view options and register will be added to this webpage once the training dates have been confirmed.

Upcoming Virtual Trainings

Dates and registration information will be posted here soon!

3. Attend an in-person training session with a group of local officials and local government employees from your region. These region-specific trainings are a half-day commitment for participants and will be offered on-site in the region to reduce travel burdens for participants. Each training will be planned in partnership with participants and tailored to focus on the specific issues, solutions and opportunities for communities in the region. While a participants can opt for a portion of these training to focus on concepts covered in the fundamental training sessions described above, these are meant to be more advanced and action-oriented trainings that bring multiple public officials and employees from the same community together help them plan for and move toward action to address housing needs.
